Nazlı Kilerci-Stevanović studied Film and Communication Studies at the University of Istanbul, Vienna and Film Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin. Since July 2015, she has been a research associate in the subproject C06 - Transcultural, integrative, and racist poetics of audiovisual images at the Collaborative Research Center 1171 Affective Societies.

Her research focuses on investigations of cultural communities in (global) transit and questions of audiovisual poetics of Arabesk in German-Turkish Cinema.
