This lecture addresses new (forced) migration from Turkey through its collective, public, and political emotions. Underpinned by the ethnographic research I carry out in Berlin, the lecture focuses on emotional practices of people who recently left Turkey across digital media, artistic endeavors, and public events. It aims to discuss how an affective cultural sphere created through these emotional practices can open up possibilities for imagining and creating affinities, collaborations, and collectivities both within and beyond a particular migration experience.
