Prof. Dr. Kerstin Schankweiler

Kerstin Schankweiler is Professor of Visual Studies in a Global Context at the Institute of Art and Music Studies at the Technical University of Dresden. Her research focuses on digital image cultures, 20th and 21st century art with a regional focus on African art, art history and transculturality, postcolonial theories and gender studies. She is co-editor of the review journal Kunstform and a member of the DFG network ‘Cultures of Aesthetic Resistance’.
