Dr. Stefan Wellgraf

Stefan Wellgraf is currently working at the Institute for European Ethnology at HU-Berlin within the framework of a Heisenberg Fellowship. He studied Social and Cultural Sciences in Frankfurt/Oder (2002-2007) and was subsequently a fellow at the Research Training Group "Berlin-New York" at TU Berlin (2008-2010). He worked as a research assistant at the Johann Jacobs Museum in Zurich (2013-15), at the European University Viadrina (2012-13, 2015-2018) and at the CRC Affective Societies (2018/19). He then substituted for a professorship in cultural anthropology at the University of Hamburg for three semesters. In his research, he ethnographically studied Berlin secondary schools (Hauptschulen) for several years and most recently action-oriented football subcultures.
