The reflection project works collaboratively and across disciplines, pursuing two objectives: Firstly, it further develops the self-reflection of affect and emotion research within the Collaborative Research Center and critically examines its forms of knowledge production. Secondly, it explores questions related to the subject of “Contested Knowledge” in two sub-projects. The first sub-project deals with the affective afterlife of colonial pasts and repressed knowledge from the perspective of social and cultural philosophy. The second sub-project examines, from a sociological perspective, the significance of affect and emotions for the relation between science and society.
