Dr. Temi Odumosu will present an interactive lecture on affect in the colonial archive, drawing on her involvement in the international Living Archives Research Project and her many published and curated works on the ongoing affective afterlives of slavery and colonialism.
Her talk will be accompanied by a special on-site visit to SAVVY’s Colonial Neighbors exhibit about Germany's silenced colonial history, featuring a roundtable discussion with the founders and curators about the affective life of the colonial fragments, tales, and objects they have collected.
Temi Odumosu is an art historian and curator based at Malmö University in Sweden. Her research and cultural practice attends to the representations of African peoples, visual and affective politics of slavery and colonialism, colonial archives and archiving, Afro-Diaspora aesthetics, and more broadly exploring how art mediates social transformation and healing. She has published widely and has been a lead researcher at the Living Archives Research Project.Zeit & Ort
